Labels are available in three main adhesive types:
Standard Adhesives
Removable | Suitable for when a label should be removable from a product. Removability is dependent upon the material the label is stuck to. If the material is porous, it can be difficult to remove the label, but where the surface is non-porous, removable adhesive labels should come away easily.
Permanent | Permanent adhesives are not suitable for when a label needs removing. Paper based labels will tear before coming away from the item it is stuck to. Permanent adhesive provides good adhesion for items kept at room temperature or refrigerated above 0oC
Freezer | Freezer adhesive mimics permanent adhesive in characteristics but will work in sub-zero temperatures. Whilst it is suitable for temperatures as low as -18oC, that is the limit, and anything under -5oC would probably benefit from “Deep-Freeze” adhesive. Freezer adhesive labels should be applied at room-temperature. This adhesive will not stick to a pre-frozen, wet or iced item.
Deep-Freeze* | This adhesive is rated to work as low as -32oC and under the same circumstances as Freezer adhesive.
Hotmelt* | Suitable for application to wet and/or cold items and will work to lower temperatures. |
